Coach Sean McClellan started wrestling in 7th grade thanks to a good friend that invited him to give it a try. After winning the All-City championship in his first season he was hooked and has loved the sport of wrestling ever since. Sean competed at Pocatello High School under Head Coach Todd Praska and Tadd Roubidoux from 2007-2011. He was a 3x State Qualifier and 3x District Placer. He also played football where he was named All-District V in 2011, All-Area (Eastern Idaho) in 2011, and made the 2011 Idaho All-Star team. During his time at Pocatello High School he also won the following awards: 2011 Boys Best All-Around Athlete, 2011 Marines Best Male Athlete, 2011 Most Academic Wrestler, Richard Suenaga Memorial Award, and 2010 Outstanding Defensive Back. After high school, Sean immediately began officiating wrestling as a way to stay connected to the sport. He has been voted a Top 5 District V official for the past 6 years in a row as well as officiated the last 3 IDHSAA State Wrestling tournaments. After completing his degree at Idaho State University and obtaining a job here in town, Sean was able to take over the wrestling program at Franklin Middle School in Pocatello in 2019, where his team was the 2019 Undefeated City Champions. During his tenure as Head Coach he has coached 24 individual City Champions, 7 Idaho Middle School State Placers, 2 Idaho Middle School State finalists, and an Idaho Middle School State Champion. After briefly running the Gem State Wrestling Club for one season, Sean started coaching with Sublime and coaches the Advanced class. He has loved his time at Sublime Wrestling Academy and is excited to continue developing wrestlers in the area. Sublime Wrestling has benefited instantly from the wealth of wrestling knowledge Coach Sean brings in.
